Columbia University... NY/NJ AETC

The AETC is a non-profit AIDS and Education resource organization which resides under the umbrella of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, (formerly under the Mailman School of Public Health) - Since 2000, SMDgroup has worked and collaborated with the organization and its performance sites. We recognized the importance of launching a strategic marketing and brand identity to strengthen their position within the federally funded (HRSA) and their 11 regional centers.  A large part of early involvement began with crafting a strong message,  delivering an educational presence, and give the organization a gritty and dynamic new visual identity. Originally a tri-regional site, it merged with UMDNJ to become the NY/NJ AETC.
We implemented a variety of marketing and design projects including their website, print materials, clinical drug interaction guides, newsletters, conference marketing materials and direct mail identitiy campaigns. We have developed templates, standard formats and other educational and economical solutions that allow for easy maintenance and updates. Our proven expertise at producing deliverables on-time and within budget has awarded SMDgroup new contracts with their affiliates, including: UMDNJ and their Center for Continuing Education and Outreach, Weill Cornell Medical College and the CCTU, and SUNY-Stony Brook College and their Center for Public Health Education.

Results:

With our professional marketing and design services, HRSA recognized the relevance and importance of targeted marketing campaigns to support AWARENESS and EDUCATION to the HIV and AIDS community . They have increased funding through most of the grant cycles in large part because of the supported and impactful campaigns and materials. The central main office (NY/NJ AETC) has been instrumental in developing quick reference, well designed clinical interactive drug guides and educational materials for their healthcare physicians and professionals, as well as the community at large, due to the templates and design standards SMDgroup has designed. They have also strengthened and streamlined their targeted campaigns.
