J&J Consumer Awareness and Diversity Campaigns...

SMDgroup was contracted to collaborate with an event and promotional marketing group to develop a strategic initiative for The African American Leadership Council (AALC). The objective was to increase awareness for its organization. Their primary goal was to make Johnson & Johnson the number one choice for both African – American consumers, while bringing health awareness to the community. We recommended developing a marketing campaign that would support deliverables through calendars, brochures, promotional items and other collateral materials. The primary objectives were to:

1) Expand health awareness for specific disease states and conditions that impact African Americans such as Alzheimer’s Disease; High Cholesterol; Cardio Vascular Disease; Skin Care; HIV/AIDS; Kidney Disease; Diabetes, Mental Health and Heart Disease.

2) Provide marketing/promotional items to sales representatives to give to physicians during their visits. These marketing tools would relate back to the stated disease states to brand the AALC and reinforce the message of health and wellness to both consumers, health professionals and physicians. Promotional materials would be distributed by sales reps to office managers, nurses and other health professionals with each visit. Ample supplies would be made available for healthcare professionals to give to their patients as well. Art was to play an important component of the promotional items. The art of talented African American artists would be featured.
